A Arkansas mother is treasuring the final texts sent by her son, one of many people killed by an EF-4 tornado on April 27.
According to KNWA, Jeffrey Hunter, who was in the town of Vilonia, sent a series of text messages to his mother Regina Wood while seeking shelter in a bathroom.
Wood told KNWA that her son knew the tornado was bad and was going to hit the town directly.
One of the last texts that he sent her was “Goodbye Mama.” After that, she kept texting him to ask if he was OK and she never heard back.
Hunter was found unconscious on the ground, and later died from his injuries. He was with his father and step-mother, who survived.
