Candlelight vigil held for slain activist

A candlelight vigil was held outside the home of a woman who dedicated her life to fighting violence, only to become a victim herself.

Leonore Draper, 32 was shot and killed in her car, following an anti-violence fundraiser that she helped organize.

Draper’s family hosted the vigil Friday.

Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Father Michael Pfleger of St. Sabina Church were also in attendance.

Police said Draper’s death was a result of a “possible drive-by shooting”.
