Uncle accused of giving niece gun in slaying of 14-year-old girl

A 16-year-old girl was also shot in the arm.

Flora, of the 8300 block of South Buffalo Avenue in Chicago, was charged with first-degree murder and aggravated battery with a firearm. He’s scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.

Flora’s 14-year-old niece is accused of shooting Endia Martin to death about 4:30 p.m. Monday in the 900 block of West Garfield Boulevard.

A 17-year-old boy was also charged with trying to hide the murder weapon.

Martin’s family says the two girls were longtime friends and got into an argument on Facebook over a boy.  The argument escalated into a physical fight and then the shooting.

Martin was shot in the back.

Prosecutors say the 14-year-old suspect aimed a gun and fired at a group of people Monday night on the South Side.
Endia’s family said the fight that began on Facebook escalated to a physical fight and then the shooting, with two groups of people fighting.  A 16-year-old girl was injured. Endia was shot in the back and died.

and self control, personal responsibility, a sense of right or wrong, no conflict resolution skills, no involved parenting.

First of all why fight over, let alone kill another female over a boy that does not belong to either one of you? Now one is dead & the other has messed up her life over a boy that is going to be seeing somebody else tomorrow! Then the 26 yr. old cousin who provided his 14 yr. old cousin or niece with a gun to kill someone, escalating the fight into murder. What the hell is wrong with him? What kind of role model is he? Also the person who is charged with trying to hide the weapon. These are just a bunch of dumb asses. They go through all this to take someone's life & then try to hide & run. Pure Punks. You set out to kill someone over a damn boy. How stupid can you be? I think Donnell Flora should be charged with murder as well as his niece. He went along with her & then helped fix the gun so it would fire correctly. What a shame. They should all be ashamed of themselves. Where is that boy now, that you killed someone over? Is he right there with you? He probably has 4 or 5 of you stringing along. Wow! People just do not think. Why would a 26 yr old supposed to be man involve himself in a female teen squabble that leaves one of those teens deceased? I wouldn't want you anywhere around my daughter, niece or not; because you did not help the the situation at all or provide positive advice to your niece. Instead, you helped her mess up her life & be as dumb as you are.

    Where has common sense gone????
How "NICE" that this young killer could count on her uncle to guide her into ruining her life! He deserves to be charged with first degree murder as much as her.
And did I hear/read that IF this young killer is found guilty – her sentence would allow her to be released at age 21? In time to have a life…much different from what will NOT happen for her young victim…
