Emotional reunion for two special veterans of war

On the job, they served in Iraq together, they protected the President together, and now, an army veteran and his dog are together for good.

Sgt Jason Bos served his country side-by-side with C.C. for over four years.   And until today, they hadn’t seen each other in a year and a half.

The two reunited this afternoon at O’Hare airport.

They trained in Arizona when the chocolate lab was just a year old. They sniffed out improvised explosives in Iraq and served domestically during presidential visits.

But when Sgt Bos left the army, C.C. had to stay. Her tour wasn’t over yet.

So the canine known as Military War Dog Cila M-389 kept sniffing out bombs until it was time to retire.

Sgt Bos heard about that and when he got a chance to adopt her, he jumped at it.

With help from the American Humane Association and Mission K9 Rescue, C.C. was able to fly home.

The newly-civilian dog and her new family are bound for her cushy life on a soft couch in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
