A special bond: Dogs helping those with autism

A recent study in the Journal of Pediatric Nursing says therapy dogs can act as a social lubricants for autistic kids and help them build skills needed to build friendships and expand learning.

Therapy dogs are an intrical part of their staff at Giant Steps, a school for children and families living with autism.

The unconditional love and bonds formed between students and the dogs can be seen in and outside the classroom.
