White House trying to help families find work-life balance
Two top advisers to the Obama administration with ties to Chicago returned to the city Monday for a forum on working families.
White House officials Valerie Jarrett and Tina Tchen, and Center for American Progress President Neera Tanden participated, along with members of Congress, local officials, business leaders, and workers’ advocates.
The forum is part of a series of regional events to examine how 21st century workplaces can meet the needs of businesses and working families.
The goal of the regional events is to examine innovative solutions for creating workplaces that provide hardworking Americans the opportunity to get ahead and ensure that America remains competitive on a global scale.
Information and ideas from the regional forums will be discussed at a national Summit in Washington on June 23.
