Authorities in High Point, N.C., believe a driver was posting to Facebook seconds before she veering into an oncoming truck and died.
According to our sister station WGHP, friends and family of the victim, 32-year-old Courtney Ann Sanford, initially made police aware of the post.
A 8:33 a.m., Sanford’s posted this message to Facebook: “The Happy Song makes me so HAPPY.”
Just one minute later at 8:34, police were called for the report of a crash.
Police say Sanford was also posting selfies as she drove down the road.
“As sad as it is, it is a grim reminder for everyone… you just have to pay attention while you are in the car,” High Point Police Lt. Chris Weisner tells WGHP.
