Gary police officer hurt in high speed chase

A police officer from Gary, Indiana is in the hospital, after his squad car crashed during a high speed chase.

It happened Thursday night, near Burr Street and the Borman Expressway.

The officer was reportedly involved in the chase, when his squad car struck a guard rail and burst into flames.

Witnesses say the car was engulfed by flames when ambulances arrived.

The officer’s condition has not been released.
