Emanuel: Air conditioning in CPS classrooms in 5 years

It’s going to cost $100 million but 206 Chicago Public School buildings that still lack air conditioning will get cooling units over the next five years.

Most of the air-conditioners will be window units for the older buildings.

It’s a directive Mayor Rahm Emanuel gave CPS officials even though the school system faces a one billion dollar shortfall.
