Carla Oglesby was sentenced Wednesday to six-and-a-half years behind bars for corruption. She was convicted of stealing more than $300,000 in public funds. Prosecutors say she took kickbacks in cash-stuffed envelopes for steering contracts to the firms of friends. Authorities say she was careful to award contracts just under the $25,000 mark, that would trigger a review by the County Board.
