Runners in today’s Boston Marathon came to the start line with a sense of hope and determination. And for a North Aurora couple – it was no different.
Diagnosed with ALS four years ago, Denise Dimarco now relies on a motorized wheelchair to get around and, with her tongue muscle impacted, a computer to speak. But she and her husband Chris Benyo aren’t letting the devastating diagnosis slow them down. Today in Boston, they ran the marathon. Chris, an experienced runner, pushed his wife in a special jogger.
They finished the race in four hours and 36 minutes.
Boston is not their last stop. Next weekend they’ll run the New Jersey marathon together.
