Missing Chicago boys found with mother in Wisconsin
18 hours after a child abduction alert was issued, two boys from Chicago’s South Side have been found in Northern Wisconsin.
Police say the boys’ mother, Jamie Duignen, a Chicago police officer, who has been on leave from the department for about a year, left town last night with her sons. 11-year-old Daniel and 9-year-old Owen were found with their mother in Grand Chute, Wisconsin, about 100 miles north of Milwaukee, this afternoon.
Jamie and her husband of 10-plus years are going through a divorce and she took off from their West Beverly home in a gray minivan around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, prompting a plea from the Duignan family to turn herself in.
Police in Grand Chute found Jamie and her boys in hotel parking lot. Police say they were confused as to why she was being approached by police, but she was compliant.
As for the boys, they seemed ok physically. Now they are awaiting their father’s arrival so they all can go home together.
There have been no immediate charges filed against Jamie yet.
