Deal reached; Union calls off strike at UIC
Leaders and faculty at University of Illinois Chicago have reached a tentative deal and the union has called off its pending strike.
1100 faculty members were planning to walk-off the job next week.
Details regarding the new contract haven’t been released.
The union was asking UIC administrators for a pay increase of at least 3 percent for tenured faculty and increasing the minimum salary for non-tenured faculty from $30,000 dollars per year to $45,000.
