Teen fatally shot in drive-by related to rapper killed in 2012
A 16-year-old boy killed in a drive-by shooting in Rogers Park has connections to a local rapper that was killed in 2012.
It happened at about 2:40 a.m. Tuesday on the 7600 block of North Ashland Avenue.
Police say Kenos Glass was walking home when one or more person in a gray mini-van opened fire. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
Police chased the van and eventually stopped it in the 1300 block of West Touhy. At least two people are now being questioned.
Glass was cousins with Lil Jo Jo, a rapper who was gunned down on the South Side in 2012.
His family said Glass was a student at Senn High School and was an aspiring rapper. “He was just going to school and trying to get a job,” said Glass’ girlfriend, Tori Flowers.
Several shootings in the Rogers Park neighborhood have killed two people and wounded nine others in the last three months.
