Police: Man pulls gun on store clerk over sales tax

A man was arrested after police say he pulled a submachine gun on a West Side convenience store clerk.

Chicago police say 36-year-old Nahshon Shelton waved the loaded gun at Madison and Pulaski Saturday afternoon and threatened to kill everyone at the store.

He claimed he was tax exempt because he lived in the neighborhood, and he didn’t have to pay the 22-cent sales tax on a two-liter bottle of pop.

No one was hurt.

Shelton is being held without bail.
