A group of high school students in Pierce, Neb. have a prom memory they will never forget.
When the group gathered for a photo on a bridge, the bridge collapsed and sent the group into the creek below. The photo was posted online and has gone viral.
The photos were taken at the home of student Andy White before prom at Pierce High School.
“We have a senior daughter Alisha and she wanted to know if she could have some friends come out and take pictures,” White said. “They have done that in the past, usually inside. They decided to come and get a picture on a couple of the bridges here and they didn’t opt for the more sturdy one and they got 21 or 22 of them on this back one and it turned out to be a little too much weight.”
The group made it out with no serious injuries.
The photo went viral after Lane Rohrich posted the photo on Twitter.
“And within two minutes I had 35 retweets from just my regular followers. Then I took a nap to recuperate from prom. By two hours later I had 3,000 retweets and now we are up to 40,000 retweets and favorites and we are still moving up,” says Rohrich.
What I accomplished this weekend:
1) ruined a rented tux
2) ruined my iPhone
3) broke a bridge/ fell into a creek b4 prom
