Since the first of the year, there’s been an app for people who want to buy Illinois lottery tickets.
Some love the convenience.
Others say it does more harm than good.
Convenience story owners have argued that it’s siphoning lottery customers away from their stores, many of whom buy other items while there.
Gambling critics say it just makes it easier for people with gambling addictions to drain their savings.
Illinois Lottery Director Michael Jones says there are restrictions in place on the app that limit the amount people spend on lottery tickets.
