A woman is in custody after police say she lost control of her car and crashed into several vehicles and injured two people.
Evanston police say the 63-year-old Wilmette woman allegedly hit a succession of parked and moving vehicles as well as a woman on a motor scooter and a man on a bike.
The woman on the scooter suffered minor injuries.
The bike rider was seriously injured and is in intensive care according to police.
The woman was followed more than three miles by an unmarked police car, finally coming to a stop in Skokie where she was arrested and taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Police say preliminary tests didn’t show any substances in her system.
