Chicago is getting more bicycle friendly.

The city will install five more miles of protected bike lanes.

There will also be another 15 miles of buffer protected lanes in multiple neighborhoods.

They’ll start popping up on the north and west sides and in the loop this spring and summer.

Chicago currently has 50 miles of protected bike lanes.

Officials plan to add another 50 miles by next year.

It would be nice if the bicycle lanes were not two ways on the one-way streets — I wonder if the city ever considered that the bikes should only travel in the same direction as traffic.
