We’re walking a fine line today as an area of low pressure moves up the Ohio Valley.
Mostly cloudy skies are expected and scattered showers are possible, especially in the afternoon.
The best chance of rain will be found south and east of Chicago. North and west of the city there may be little sunshine and temps that could reach the 50s.
Meanwhile a north wind will keep temps closer to the lake in the low 40s.
A cold front is forecast to sweep across the region tonight. That will keep the chance for widely scattered showers in the forecast into Tuesday.
Once again highs are expected to be cooler lakeside where the mercury will probably top out in the low to mid-40s, while inland temps reach the upper 40s under mostly cloudy skies.
