*Though he’s 0-for-8 in this series with eight groundball outs, Joe Mauer still leads all active players in lifetime batting average at .322.

*The South Siders have not had consecutive losing seasons since 1998 and ’99. When they’ve had losing seasons since then, they’ve bounced back in the following campaign.

*Aaron Hicks has four hits in two games in 2014. Last year, it took him 16 games to get four hits.

*The White Sox have won the first two games of this series; other than the outcome, the games have been dramatically different affairs.
