The T.S.A. worker who rescued a woman from a fast-approaching CTA train is sharing his story of bravery.
50 year-old Eddie Palacios was at the Blue Line stop at Chicago and Milwaukee waiting for the train to take to O’Hare Airport. He heard someone yell a woman fell onto the tracks.
The Pilsen resident sprang into action. He jumped onto the rails and waved his arms to stop the approaching train. Fortunately, he was wearing an orange sweatshirt.
The train halted just in time, and the woman was pulled onto the platform.
“This is what we’re supposed to do. This is what we’re supposed to do. Be human beings,” he added.
He says his TSA training kicked in.
The woman was treated at a hospital.
