Police in Park Forest are issuing a warning after a series of incidents in which teenage girls walking alone were approach and harassed by a man.

Some were groped, some were robbed and some threatened with a knife, according to police.

Four reported incidents have occurred, three of which were near Winnebago Park. The other was near Sangamon St and Shabbona Dr, police said.

In the most recent incident, the offender was described a Black male, 5’8”, with a medium build. The man was wearing a dark colored ski mask over his face, dark sunglasses, a gray zip-up hoodie, blue sweatpants that appeared to be dirty and white gym shoes, police said.

“While police cannot conclusively link all incidents, a similar offender description and the nature of the incidents at this time leads police to believe that the same offender is likely involved,” police said in a statement.

Anyone with any information is asked to call 708-748-1309.
