Woman, 2 grandchildren injured in South Shore shooting

Chicago police are searching for the person who shot a woman and her two grandchildren in the South Shore neighborhood.

It happened around 8 p.m. Tuesday, in the 2500 block of East 78th Street.

The woman was shot in the leg. She was taken to the hospital in critical but stable condition.

A five-year-old boy suffered a gunshot wound to the stomach, and a three-year-old was hit in the shoulder.

Both children are in stable condition.

Police say they were not the intended targets.
