Teen charged, found with gun in South Side elementary school
A 15-year-old boy is being charged as an adult after prosecutors say he had a gun at a South Side elementary school Monday.
The principal of Mollison Elementary School called police just after 3 p.m., saying two students were taking pictures in a bathroom with the gun.
When officers searched the students, Leon Bell Jr. was found carrying a backpack with a .38-caliber revolver loaded with three live rounds.
Bell, who previously admitted guilt in juvenile court of armed robbery and theft, was ordered held in lieu of $50,000 dollars bond today, according to court documents.
