The official introduction came Monday afternoon at Halas Hall: Jared Allen, newest member of the Chicago Bears.

Five days after the five-time Pro Bowl defensive end agreed to terms on a four-year deal with the organization, Allen arrived for his enthusiastic public unveiling at team headquarters, and received his new navy number 69 jersey and a warm welcome from general manager Phil Emery.

“We’re excited about what he’s going to bring to our group and our goal of winning a championship,” Emery said before introducing Allen. “Relentless player, high-energy player, successful in every area of his life.”

Allen said he was “excited to be here” and that “it’s a cool feeling when you go into the offseason knowing you have a chance to win. … I truly am excited to get the pads on and play at Soldier Field.”
