Prosecutors say a man killed in the West Town neighborhood was trying to stop a drunk driver.
Timothy McShane was in court Tuesday on charges of reckless homicide and aggravated DUI.
Police say he was drunk when he left a bar on Saturday evening and got into an SUV.
Shane Stokowski saw him leave the bar, and leaned into the driver’s side window to stop McShane from driving.
But police say McShane took off and dragged him for a block, before Stokowski fell to the pavement and hit his head.
Stokowski died less than an hour later.
McShane told police he thought the man was tring to rob him.
McShane has at least three other DUI arrests on his record.
