Reconstruction of a stretch of the CTA Blue Line is underway, marking the beginning of the overhaul of the O’Hare Branch.
Tracks that link the Western, California, and Logan Square stops were shutdown at 10 p.m. on Friday, and will reopen at 4 a.m. Monday.
The CTA will have free shuttle buses for affected riders.
This is all part of the four year, $492 million project that will replace over 12 miles of track.
Right now trains deal with slow zones, where they coast at 15 mph instead of their top speed of 55 mph.
The next track closure, between Western and Damen, is scheduled for April 4.
Additional closings will happen over eight weekends through August.
