Francis Cardinal George is in the hospital with flu-like symptoms.
The cardinal went to Loyola Medical Center on Friday for a routine check-up, since he is undergoing chemotherapy for cancer.
While he was there, doctors determined he was dehydrated and decided to admit him.
An archdiocese of Chicago spokesperson says it was done “in an abundance of caution”.
Cardinal George has been receiving fluids and antibiotics through an IV.
He is alert and in good spirits.
He’s also said to be doing paperwork.
The cardinal will likely be released Wednesday or Thursday.
