Streamwood high school student charged after gun found

A Streamwood High School student has been charged with bringing a gun to school.

Someone told school officials on Friday that the student had a gun.

The building was locked down, and the suspected student was removed from class.  But, he ran from the building.

Police found a gun just off school property.

The student was taken into custody Saturday.

He’s charged with unlawful use of a weapon on school grounds, aggravated battery to a police officer and resisting arrest.
