Milwaukee Avenue Bridge will be closed all this weekend between Levitt and Oakley.

City officials shutdown the bridge for construction work on the Bloomington trail.

It will reopen at 5 a.m. on Monday.

Officials say it’s the first step to begin construction of the new bridge.

The new bridge will use recycled steel from the current structure, and will feature an arch design.

The project is part of Mayor Rahm Emanuel`s push to create 800 new parks, recreation areas and green spaces throughout Chicago over the next five years.
