No bail for father charged in shoplifting case
The father of a suburban family charged with shoplifting from stores nationwide is ordered held without bail during a court hearing today.
Branko and Lela Bogdanov and their daughter Julia appeared in federal court today.
Prosecutors argued Branko Bogdanov had “every reason to flee” as he faces more than 12-years in prison if convicted.
The judge agreed he was a flight risk and ordered him to remain in jail.
The judge delayed a decision until next week on whether to release Bogdanov`s wife, Lela, so she can hire an attorney.
Julia Bogdanov is still trying to find a suitable person to stay with while on bail.
Bogdanov’s lawyer told the judge his client has been self-employed in the carpet business.
