A south suburban Glenwood man has been charged with holding a steak knife to his mother’s throat and then stabbing her repeatedly and stealing about a hundred dollars from the woman.
Prosecutors said Willie J. Jackson, 23, held a knife to his mother’s throat at the home they shared in the 500 block of South Minerva Avenue.
Jackson demanded money from his mother, who was sitting at her desk when he confronted her, Assistant State’s Attorney Sean Brady said in bond court Saturday.
After the woman was thrown to the ground and sustained several stab wounds to her neck, hands and thigh area, Jackson made away with $101 in cash, court records show.
Police arrived and found Jackson covered in blood. Jackson later made statements that implicated himself, Brady told Judge Adam Bourgeois Jr.
Jackson’s mother had surgery on her hands, where she suffered her most serious wounds, Brady said.
The judge ordered Jackson, who faces an armed robbery charge, held on $750,000 bail.
