The suspended president of Chicago’s Fraternal Order of Police has been removed from office.

The lodge’s board of directors voted 15 to 11 to oust Michael Shields.

He was suspended three months ago after publicly charging his union rivals and predecessors with rigging police contracts by striking backroom deals with politicians before or during negotiations.

Shields called his suspension a political stunt.
