In a 60 minute debate at the WGNTV studios, all four republican candidates running for governor faced off for the second night in a row tonight. While issues the state is facing were top of mind, topics dealing with the candidates character and their record either in the workplace or as an elected official kept re-surfacing. Each candidate asking of one another: Is this the man you want leading the state of Illinois during such troubled times?
Businessman Bruce Rauner, State Senator Kirk Dillard and rival Bill Brady sparred throughout the evening on the issues.
Meanwhile a quiet, almost passive state treasurer Dan Rutherford is still embroiled in a scandal he just can’t seem to shake. Tonight, he admitted accusations of sexual harassment have nearly sunk his chances of addressing the real issues in the state of Illinois.
The primary election is March 18th.
