Police are looking for the gunman who shot and killed a long-time Chicago businessman over the weekend on the Southwest Side. Investigators are hoping surveillance video will help them find the killer.
Herbert Goode, 66, was the owner of Silver Cloud Galleries, a framing company with a storefront at 20 West Ohio Street.
On Saturday he was at his Southwest Side factory when he was gunned down — the victim of a possible robbery. It happened at 2 p.m., in the middle of the day, in the 5700 block of South Clermont.
Today a detective was looking at surveillance video from a body shop across the street.
Witnesses told police they saw a light blue car speed away after several people ran out of Goode’s business. He was found on the ground by his work van.
