South Side Catholic school will not close

A Catholic elementary school on the South Side avoids closing thanks to fund raising and a big tuition hike.

St. Florian was one of six Chicago archdiocese schools slated for closing to offset a $10 million dollar budget reduction.

A nearly 40 percent increase in tuition and a $1000 dollar pledge drive raised enough money.Of the six schools on the list, three have found a way to stay open.
