Snowy Saturday night for the Hawks

Light to moderate snow continues to fall across much of the Chicago Metro area including the Loop where the Chicago Blackhawks are playing  the Pittsburgh Penguins in the Stadium Series at Soldier Field. Keeping up with the falling snow on the ice has been a challenge.

Area snowfall so far this afternoon and evening has totaled up to 2 inches mainly north and west of the city. In Chicago snowfall so far has been less than an inch. The snow is expected to continue overnight with 2 to 4 inches of new snow by morning in most areas with a few locally higher amounts.

Some snowfall totals

O’Hare Airport 0.6 inches

St. Charles 1.3 inches

Rockford 1.7 inches

Romeoville 0.1 inches
