February closes with colder than average temps
February will close out the way it began with colder than average temperatures.
Highs today will remain about 15 degrees below average, topping out in the mid-20s under an increasing blanket of cloud cover.
Passing snow showers late this evening and overnight may bring a few tenths of accumulation to the region.
Saturday will bring colder temps and more clouds. Light snow will become likely late Saturday afternoon and mainly Saturday evening.
Through the overnight a few inches of accumulation are possible.
A few more inches of snow are possible Sunday, especially south of Chicago.
Temperatures on Sunday are only forecast to reach the upper teens.
