CHICAGO, February 24, 2014 – Chicago’s Very Own WGN-TV is proud to announce its 2014 Chicago White Sox broadcast schedule. WGN-TV will produce 56 White Sox baseball telecasts, including one preseason and 30 regular-season games to air on WGN-TV and 25 games to air on WCIU. All games will be broadcast in HD. A complete WGN/WCIU White Sox TV broadcast schedule is attached. All listed times are CT.
WGN’s first telecast will be on Thursday, April 3 against the Central Division rival Minnesota Twins. WGN will have several games with Central Division rivals as well as Seattle, San Francisco and the New York Yankees. WGN-produced White Sox games that will air on WCIU include the World Champion Boston Red Sox on April 15 and 16, the Cubs on May 5 and 7 and the Yankees on May 22.
Play-by-play announcer Ken “Hawk” Harrelson and color analyst and former White Sox pitcher Steve Stone will return to the White Sox broadcast booth for their sixth season together. All White Sox games broadcast on WGN-TV will also be seen nationally on WGN America.
Forty-five seasons of Chicago White Sox games have been televised by WGN since 1948.
