The body of a missing Southern Illinois University student was found Tuesday, nearly a week after he was last seen.
19-year-old Pravin Varughese’s body was found in a wooded area in Carbondale , police said.
Varughese, who was from Morton Grove, was last seen leaving a party on campus last Wednesday.
Cell phone records show he called a friend in Chicago less than two hours later and then made a post on Twitter that suggested he may have been in a fight.
Authorities said that Varughese had received a ride from someone at the party he attended the night he went missing. But he later got into an argument with the person who offered him the ride, prompting Varughese to leave the car. He walked into a wooded area, got lost and froze to death, officials said.
Foul play is not suspected.
