Family and friends are searching for a missing Southern Illinois University student from Morton Grove

19-year-old Pravin Varughese was last seen Wednesday night leaving a party on the Carbondale campus.

Phone records show he called a friend in Chicago almost two hours later.

That friend said it sounded like he had been running or arguing with someone. A short time after that he sent out a tweet saying his knuckles were bloody suggesting he may have been in a fight.

Pravin graduated from Niles West High School.

Family and friends say it’s not like him to just drop out of sight and because of that, they are very worried something bad has happened to him.

His mother is hoping a break in this missing persons case will come soon and he will be found safe and sound.

Pravin is described as 5’7, about 150 pounds with  brown hair and brown eyes and a dark completion

A $15,000 dollar award is being offered for his recovery.

Anyone with any information is asked to call 618-549-2677.
