Police questioning 2 after mother, daughter shot in Romeoville
A mother and daughter were shot in southwest suburban Romeoville Thursday, forcing authorities to put a nearby elementary school on lockdown.
A 33-year old mother and her 15-year old daughter both shot while sitting in a car outside their home in the 300 block of Emery Ave at around 7 a.m. The mother was about to drop the teen off at school.
The mother was shot in the neck. The daughter was shot in the head. Police say 2 to 3 shots were fired at the passenger side window.
Police responded setting up a perimeter around the house to search for the shooter.
Local schools were also put on a “soft lockdown” as a precaution.
Four persons of interest found in the neighborhood were taken into custody. Two were later released. Police says they are still speaking with a 23-year-old man and another man in his late teens or early twenties about the crime.
