Much colder air has returned to the region with highs today only expected in the lower 20s.
Not only are we seeing colder temperatures, but there is a chance of passing snow showers today especially south of I-80. In those location ½ to possibly 1 inch of snow may accumulate. Closer to the city a dusting of snow is possible.
Our skies should clear out tonight allowing temperatures to fall close to zero. Wind chills could drop to near 8 below zero.
The clouds will return tomorrow ahead of another system that has the potential to bring some accumulating snow to the area Saturday afternoon and evening. One to two inches of snow is possible by late Saturday night. Highs Saturday are once again forecast to only reach the low 20s.
Sunday should be dry and slightly warmer though staying below average with a high in the upper 20s.
