Wind Chill Advisory late Sunday night into Monday morning

Dangerous wind chills of -20 to -30 degrees will occur over the Chicago area late Sunday night into Monday morning (Midnight until noon CST). Arctic high pressure will be spreading southeast over the Chicago area today with temperatures peaking in the mid to upper teens in the early afternoon – then starting a steady fall.

By evening readings will be in the single digits and overnight temperatures will fall well below zero, which when combined with 10 to 15 mile per hour northwest winds will see wind chills fall into the -20 to -30 degree range after midnight tonight.

The National Watch/Warning map below depicts the area of the country (shaded in light blue) from the Dakotas southeast through Minnesota and Iowa into Wisconsin and Illinois under a Wind Chill Advisory.
