More snow is causing more problems for drivers, walkers, workers and everybody in between.
One particular Chicago street is having more problems than most. Daniel Wolk lives in the 7200 block of north Campbell– across from the 13 acre Rogers Park, snow drifts are his problem and have been for weeks.
“They thought they could save money by not putting up a snow fence,” Wolk said.
Streets and Sanitation workers are busy on the main roads on especially snowy days– leaving side streets like Wolk’s on the back burner. It’s forcing cars to park too far from the curb.
Pedestrians are walking in the streets themselves when sidewalks are buried. Snowplows are even challenged on this dead end street.
Elsewhere around the city, workers are fighting for position, too– placing road cones carefully on this unplowed avenue. The snow testing even the most determined, like mail carriers who are ready to throw in the towel– and it’s only February.
