Skilling: 2013-14 season 8th snowiest on record in Chicago, so far

Even if no more snow were to fall the rest of this snow season , the winter of 2013-14 already ranks as the city’s 8th snowiest on record, WGN Chief Meteorologist Tom Skilling says.

Here are the totals out of O’Hare Airport:

1. 1978-79, 89.7 inches

2. 1977-78, 82.3 inches

3. 1969-70, 77.0 inches

4. 1966-67, 68.4 inches

5. 1951-52, 66.4 inches

6. 1917-18, 64.1 inches

7. 2007-08, 60.3 inches

8. 2013-14, 59.6 inches and counting 

At Midway Airport this winter now ranks as the 6th snowiest on record since 1928-29.

1. 1978-79, 89.7 inches

2. 1977-78, 82.3 inches

3. 1969-70, 77.0 inches

4. 1966-67, 68.4 inches

5. 1951-52, 66.4 inches

6. 2013-14, 62.7 inches and counting

    I am very disappointed that I can't watch WGN America at night in Scottsdale, AZ. We have enjoyed keeping up with the Chicago news and weather. We will miss Mark, Micah, Dan and Tom at night. They are the best.
