String of crashes shut down 1-mile stretch on I-55 in Will County

One lane of I-55 northbound is open again between Bluff Road and U-S Route 6, several hours after a handful of accidents injured at least seven people Monday morning, on Interstate 55 in Will County.

Illinois State Police say the crashes involved semi-trucks and passenger vehicles, and took place between 8:30 and 9 a.m.

Two cars were pinned beneath semis.

A number of people were transported to Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet.

State police could not provide details about the nature of the injuries.

A state police spokesman says the interstate’s closure backed up traffic for at least 15 miles.

I guess this story hasn't developed anymore than what you rushed to post pictures on with little info… if you can't give details don't bother "reporting".
