Water main break floods Streeterville roads

water main break

Thursday’s water main break in Streeterville shouldn’t be a problem anymore.

The 1932 main ruptured just after 3 pm at Ohio and McClurg.

Businesses and residential buildings didn’t lose water service because they all have duel water lines servicing the buildings.

The main break did leave a mess at the intersection.  Nick Gunn who lives in the neighborhood saw the water bubbling up and when he got to the intersection is was pretty well flooded.

The city had salt trucks at the intersection to keep ice from forming and city water crews helped people cross the street so they could stay on their feet.

The main break is fixed and streets are back open.

FYI, it's "they all have 'dual' water lines," as in two, not "duel," as in battling. Are there no editors anymore?
