Police: Shoplifting suspect asks cops if she can do heroin
An accused shoplifter didn’t do herself any favors at the police station.
Edith Hancock, 33, was arrested for shoplifting clothes and cosmetics from a Wal-Mart on the West Side.
She’s also charged with drug possession, after police say they found multiple bags of heroin in her purse.
While she was being processed, she “continually asked” officers for “just one blow,” a street name for heroin, from her purse because she was “getting dopesick,” according to a police report. Her request was denied.
Hancock also told police that she’s three months pregnant.
She’s due in court in three weeks.
